PES School Picnic 2020

Each year we have a school picnic down at our very own Pt England Beach. The weather was amazing and everyone had a fantastic time. Thank you to Mr Burt, staff, teachers and all of our wonderful parent helpers for making it happen!

Meet the Teacher!

We have a team of amazing teachers at our school. At the start of the term we had a Meet the Teacher Day where parents had the opportunity to meet their child's teacher. Thank you to all of our parents who came along to have a korero (chat/talk) with our teachers.

Lazy Sneakers @ PES!

Have you heard about Lazy Sneakers! Maia Mariner is the young person who created this charity to help students. Lazy Sneakers collect reusable sneakers from the community and distribute to people for free so they can play, participate and reach their potential. Many students at our school were lucky enough to receive a pair of shoes when Lazy Sneakers came along to our school. Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity Lazy Sneakers and Maia!

Pay Attention - Prefects Korero

The following movie was created by our prefects for their korero of the week - Pay Attention. It's all about the importance of paying attention. If you pay attention then you will be able to follow the correct instructions that you have been given. So listen to your teachers, coaches and to your peers. We hope that you pay attention in class, on the sports field and at home.

Whodunnit?

Have you ever watched a movie about a murder mystery? Sometimes the person who commits a crime is the person who you'd least expect.

The Year 7&8 Extension group were keen to write the script and create their characters for our movie. We used sound effects and music to create suspense and build up a sense of drama. A couple of our characters used different accents (voices) as well. We tried to build a story that would keep our viewers watching. Superheroes!

What kinds of movies do you like to watch? Some of the most popular movies are action movies!

This movie was created by the Year 5&6 Extension group. Everyone wanted to play a part in the movie, so we decided to split the movie up into different sections or different worlds. The students wrote the script and picked their characters.

The theme was inspired by some of the most popular block buster movies. We used quite a few green screen effects for our backgrounds. The underwater scene was quite difficult to shoot, but the footage was amazing!

Niue Language Week

Fakaalofa lahi atu! Niue is affectionately known as the 'Rock' of Polynesia. This year we had a large group of students perform at assembly to celebrate the end of Niue Language Week. Many of our students are non-Niuean, so it was amazing to watch them learn a new dance and perform an item in front of the school. Monuina e faahi tapu vagahau Niue! Choo hoo!
