Joseph Parker @ Pt England School

Today we were extremely lucky to have a special guest at assembly. Joseph Parker is a professional boxer who became the first heavyweight boxer from NZ to win a major world championship. His advice for our students was 'to believe in yourself' and that 'nothing beats hard work'. Thank you Joseph Parker!

40 Hour Famine Team 2020

This year our 40 Hour Famine Team was a little smaller than usual. Due to the lockdown we couldn't confirm whether we were even going to have a team, but luckily we managed to put together a team at short notice. Instead of having our annual sleepover at school to mark the 40 Hour Famine and to start our 20 Hours of fasting (no eating), we held a workshop at school. We hope that you enjoy the following movie. Thank you to all of the families and friends of our students who have sponsored them this year.

Samoan Language Week 2020

This year for Samoan Language Week 2020, the Samoan group had the task of preparing an item that would be viewed on a livestream at our school assembly. Sadly we did not get the chance to view their item live on stage due to the lockdown restrictions. But we did manage to capture their stunning performance on video so that we could watch it again. Well done Samoan Group! Here are some of the highlights.

Year 5&6 Camp Concert Items 2020

The Year 5&6 Camp was held in Week 6 of Term 1. The students had such an amazing time participating in many neat activities such as kayaking, swimming, water slides, cycling and much more. On the Thursday night a camp concert was held and each team (6 Teams in total) had to perform an item in front of an audience in the hall. Mr Goodwin was an amazing MC and Ms Haare was awesome at keep us all entertained in between all the items. There could only be one winner, so congratulations to Team Weka!

Do you know how to use your W.I.T..S? If you ever come across a problem in the classroom or in the playground and you are not sure how to deal with it, it's always best to use your WITS.

W - Walk Away
I - Ignore it
T - Talk about it
S - Seek help

Thank you to our wonderful prefects for demonstrating what using your WITS might look like.

Pay Attention - Prefects Korero

The following movie was created by our prefects for their korero of the week - Pay Attention. It's all about the importance of paying attention. If you pay attention then you will be able to follow the correct instructions that you have been given. So listen to your teachers, coaches and to your peers. We hope that you pay attention in class, on the sports field and at home.
