This year our 40 Hour Famine Team was a little smaller than usual. Due to the lockdown we couldn't confirm whether we were even going to have a team, but luckily we managed to put together a team at short notice. Instead of having our annual sleepover at school to mark the 40 Hour Famine and to start our 20 Hours of fasting (no eating), we held a workshop at school. We hope that you enjoy the following movie. Thank you to all of the families and friends of our students who have sponsored them this year.

40 Hour Famine Team 2019
On Friday 7th of June our 40 Hour Famine Team camped out at Pt England School for our annual 40 Hr Famine sleepover. Students were placed into four teams and were given 45 minutes to practice a dance that they would later perform in the hall. The items were fantastic and kept our minds off food for a while.
Later on, the students played games, blogged about their experience and watched a movie. All money raised will be sent to World Vision who organise the 40 Hour Famine. As our students are quite young they only participate in a 20 Hour Famine. The money raised will go towards helping children and families from South Sudan who have fled their country and are living in refugee camps in Uganda.
This experience was a reminder of how fortunate we are to be living in such a beautiful and safe country. It was also a reminder for our students to be grateful for what they have and to think of others less fortunate than themselves.
Special thanks to Haare Kutia, Wylma Erick and Stevenson Erick for their help.

40 Hour Famine 2018
This year the 40 Hour Famine was held during the weekend of 8th-10th of June. On Friday night a group of students stayed over at school to take part in the 20 Hour Famine. The students had lots of fun performing in front of each other. They could only have barley sugars and Just Juice. The money raised will go to help children living in poverty in South Sudan.
In this year’s 40 Hour Famine the extension group (and several students from Teams 4 & 5) raised a total of $1,584 this year. Congratulations and well done! Thanks to Miss Timmi, Miss Wylma and Miss Haare for your help.

40 Hour Famine 2016
Once again a group of students took part in this years 40 Hour Famine. All money raised this year will go towards helping Syrian refugees. There is also the possibility of the government matching this years fundraising efforts which would be fantastic!
The group participated in a sleepover at school on Friday during the official 40 Hour Famine weekend. We played games, performed items, watched a movie, posted blogs and more to help keep our minds off the thought of going without food. Luckily there was plenty of barley sugars, Just Juice and water to keep us going.
On behalf of the Famine Team, I would like to thank everyone who has supported our participants by sponsoring them.
