In Term 2 the Year 7 & 8 Extension students were lucky enough to visit Tiritiri Matangi Island which is a wildlife sanctuary. This trip was part of a collaboration with DOC (Department of Conservation) who sponsored this amazing trip. We went by ferry to the island and had plenty of tour guides to show us around the island. It was a fantastic experience seeing some of our endangered species as we went on the bush walk e.g. Saddleback, Stitchbird, Takahe etc. We would like to thank all the representatives from DOC who made this trip possible.

The Real World
Your journey through school is a unique experience. Some students like to work hard, while others are happy to cruise along and enjoy their time with their friends. Which type are you?
This movie stars our Year 7 & 8 Extension students. We captured some footage from a workshop at Te Oro (Music and Arts Centre) in Glen Innes. We also managed to include a few shots from some scenes from our School Production which some of our extension students starred in. We hope you enjoy our MTV. (music: "White Lines" by Six60)

Thank you Spark!
This movie was created by a group of senior students in Year 8 on behalf of the Manaiakalani group of Schools. It was an opportunity to thank the Spark Foundation (formerly known as Telecom) for their huge contribution to Manaiakalani. The generous contribution from Spark will benefit students in our cluster for years to come. So on behalf of all of us.....THANK YOU SPARK!

Me TV by Class 2
This is Class 2's entry for the Manaiakalani Film Festival 2014. At first the students were put into several groups and they were supposed to create a movie each. We had hoped to select the best one, but we ran out of time, so we decided to include a snippet of everyones ideas into the one movie. We hope you enjoy our movie. Please leave us some feedback.

Unique Sports - Modified Games
This term Team 5 have been researching unique and interesting sports from Commonwealth Countries around the world. Students had the task of modifying a unique sport or one that was quite common. They had to research the game and explain how the new version of the game is played.
The first movie explains the sport called Kogikogi ga'ia also known as Samoan Dodgeball, with a few modifications. We hope you enjoy watching!
