Unique Sports - Modified Games
This term Team 5 have been researching unique and interesting sports from Commonwealth Countries around the world. Students had the task of modifying a unique sport or one that was quite common. They had to research the game and explain how the new version of the game is played.
The first movie explains the sport called Kogikogi ga'ia also known as Samoan Dodgeball, with a few modifications. We hope you enjoy watching!

The mind and Body by Iisa
Explanation Writing
The body is an amazing thing. It is an essential part of you. Without it you’d be as dead as a rock. It helps you keep healthy when you’re sick, keeps the blood flowing when you have fun, allows you to inhale and exhale oxygen and stay alive.
Once you reach adulthood, you will have reached full potential. It takes 7 years to finish going through puberty, and when you are at the top, well, you’d be an adult! In that stage your hormones will start kicking into action.
When you are little, you aren’t using much of your brain. You're only using a bit. But as you grow older, You will use more and more parts of the brain like the Cortex, the spot that helps you make decisions. When you are around 20 years of age, You will use nearly all of your brain.
But if you take drugs for example, it will damage your brain permanently. It will also affect your body, making all of your reactions slow down. It will affect your memory, so you can’t remember your past. And sometimes it will give you sudden mood swings. And soon it will be hard to stop, as most of the time your body will suffer dreadfully without it.
Usually another price that comes with drugs is that you will lose your future. If you could go somewhere with something that you do, and you go on drugs, you could lose your chance forever. You may be chased down by the cops, being controlled by a drug dealer, or just suffering. It’s not the best idea to go on these. It’s not water, or food.
Also, eat healthy food. We’ve all heard that many times before. Healthy food is good for you. For example: If you eat tomatoes, you will have a reduced chance of getting cancer. Beetroot increases the amount of iron in your blood, and carrots help with your vision. So don’t always eat unhealthy food, have some good food every once in a while.
Water is a must for keeping your body alright. Having soda all the time is bad for keeping balance in your body. All the sugar in the soda can damage your teeth. So not only should you not take soda regularly, but brush your teeth so they don’t get broken, or so you won’t have infected gums.
If you have an infection, it’s best to tell someone right away, rather than leave it. It will most likely get worse, and can sometimes lead to blood poisoning, or losing a limb. Doctors are always a good idea to help cure infections, and so is ointment. Do not leave serious infections to chance. That is a dangerous decision that puts you in lots of risk.
So take good care of your body. It is an amazing and precious pal, the best you’ll ever have. You can ask a rock to find out what it’s like without a body. Or maybe you can take real good care of yours. Don’t throw it all away. You only have one chance, so make the most of it. Kia Kaha.

Music by Neo
What is Music?
Music is one of the most delicate things in life. It can help you with most things you could think of. Music has a way of going deep inside your emotions. In todays world, we sometimes use technology to make music.
Types of music.
Every type of music has developed from scratch since the medieval ages to this day. For example, late 19th century - 20th century. Blues, originated from the Southern United States by the African American folks in the late 19th century. Dubstep, emerged from the late 1990 and originates from the United Kingdom.
The impact from music.
It is always good to listen to music. It sets the mood for you to relax, but don’t push yourself to the limit of the volume or Your inner ear will be damaged and your ability to hear will be disabled. But on the other hand, music is the best thing you can listen to when you're feeling down
Instruments.
You have to love instruments, a place without instruments is not negotiable for anyone in this world. Learning how to play instruments will help you with your thinking ability and your smarts. Main instruments like the guitar, piano, and the violin is what I would recommend for beginners.
Music is very important, important as life, and if you already know the knowledge of music and you already know how to play a musical instrument, keep practising till the end
School Immersion Assembly Term 2 - by Texas
Term 2!! Welcome back Point England. Well this year is different because we have a new topic to learn about. I think for the intermediate block our theme is Sound. I like sound because we can listen to music or make instrumental beats.
This morning we had have an team assembly. At the beginning of a new term we have a team assembly which gives the teachers a chance to do something on the stage to show us some of the topic we are learning about. Walking into the hall there were helium balloons attached to the ground and most of the teachers were wearing costumes and headphones on their head. Mr Burt had worn an funky dress which kids thought that he was a clown, but he wasn't a clown. As Mr Burt was talking team 1 was getting ready to go on the stage.
Team 1 had a movie about the zoo, animals was mostly seen in the movie. Team 2 was up on the stage that was performing about planes and we got to watch the song that was playing on the stage. The teachers were doing some funny moments. As we were getting on to team 3 the performance was about lights, colours and speed of light. It was like a rainbow but the teachers wearing costumes.
Team 4 was up on the stage that had diving gear, fishing gear and treats to give away. To get some treats you have to answer a question's.Mr Burt was funny through little rubber balls across the hall. Team 5's turn to perform on the stage, I think this was about sound. It was funny that all the teachers in team 5 had a instrument and making a beat. This morning was a cool entertainment for the beginning of this term.
