On Friday 7th of June our 40 Hour Famine Team camped out at Pt England School for our annual 40 Hr Famine sleepover. Students were placed into four teams and were given 45 minutes to practice a dance that they would later perform in the hall. The items were fantastic and kept our minds off food for a while.
Later on, the students played games, blogged about their experience and watched a movie. All money raised will be sent to World Vision who organise the 40 Hour Famine. As our students are quite young they only participate in a 20 Hour Famine. The money raised will go towards helping children and families from South Sudan who have fled their country and are living in refugee camps in Uganda.
This experience was a reminder of how fortunate we are to be living in such a beautiful and safe country. It was also a reminder for our students to be grateful for what they have and to think of others less fortunate than themselves.
Special thanks to Haare Kutia, Wylma Erick and Stevenson Erick for their help.
