Welcome to Room 7s Class Blog! We are a class of Year 5 & 6 learners in Team 4 at Pt England School. Mrs Lagitupu is our teacher.
Today our school held an Art Expo in the hall. Each team and class in the school showcased the art creations from their inquiry around 'Artworks' this term. This was the art that was created by the students of Room 7. The underwater ocean backgrounds were created using an online drawing programme called 'Sumo Paint'. The images of sea creatures were created using Hyperstudio. Each sea creature had designs or patterns to represent the students culture.
This term is all about the arts! The focus is on Visual art and the focus question in Team 4 is: How can we express ourselves through the arts? In the following movie, each teacher in our team focused on creating a piece of art related to dance, drama, art and music. Students will be exploring all aspects of the arts and will select one of the arts to learn, create and share with the team. This will be presented in the form of a piece of art (on paper or digital), a choreographed dance or a song. Students will be creating music using Garageband with Ms West in the Creative Space. They will be creating emojis using 3D printers with Mr Vogt in the Makerspace.
This term Team 4 will be creating a mini game/animation on Scratch to show certain locations around the school. This movie was created to share what team 4s focus will be this term. This will tie in with our theme around computational thinking and coding.
Team 4 had an amazing two days of activities this week. Usually we have our Year 5&6 Camp around this time, but due to Covid-19 restrictions, we decided to have two activity days instead.
Day 1: Team 4 met under Te Kapua and the group leaders were put on the spot to come up with a group chant. They did an amazing job considering they were only had a few minutes to come up with a chant, practice with their group and then perform on the spot!
Fakalofa lahi atu and Kia ora! My name is Mrs Lagitupu and I am the classroom teacher in Room 7. I have the privilege of teaching again in this amazing class of talented students.
