1PM Update - Manaiakalani Film Festival 2020

This movie was created by the Year 5&6 Extension group. During lockdown this year, there were daily 1PM updates on the news to inform the public about what was happening and whether there were any new cases of Covid 19. The students had fun taking on the different roles and creating a movie about an issue that has affected us all this year. Thanks for watching!

Gender Equality - Manaiakalani Film Festival 2020

If you are a girl, have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a boy? And if you are a boy, have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a girl? Whether we like it or not, boys and girls are treated differently. Often in the workplace, women are discriminated against because of their gender. Find out more in this movie. Thanks for watching!

By the way, Zaeeda in Year 8 came up with the idea for our movie. Thanks Zaeeda!

40 Hour Famine Team 2020

This year our 40 Hour Famine Team was a little smaller than usual. Due to the lockdown we couldn't confirm whether we were even going to have a team, but luckily we managed to put together a team at short notice. Instead of having our annual sleepover at school to mark the 40 Hour Famine and to start our 20 Hours of fasting (no eating), we held a workshop at school. We hope that you enjoy the following movie. Thank you to all of the families and friends of our students who have sponsored them this year.

Samoan Language Week 2020

This year for Samoan Language Week 2020, the Samoan group had the task of preparing an item that would be viewed on a livestream at our school assembly. Sadly we did not get the chance to view their item live on stage due to the lockdown restrictions. But we did manage to capture their stunning performance on video so that we could watch it again. Well done Samoan Group! Here are some of the highlights.
